Liposculpture (also known as Liposuction)
Liposuction/Liposculpture
is a surgical procedure in which fat cells are removed from the body.
Liposculpture is a refinement on the process of Liposuction using
finer instruments and a more modern technique. It is therefore able
to target and define very specific areas of the body so the overall
contour is improved.
It is important
to understand that Liposculpture is not a method of losing weight
and is not a substitute for diet and exercise. Many people have pockets
of fat even though they are at a healthy weight. Liposculpture can
be the answer for anyone who has tried to refine specific areas of
their body through diet and exercise, but to no effect. It is suitable
for both men and women, and can offer a significant improvement in
body shape and self-perception.
The most common
areas for this surgery are waist, hips, buttocks, thighs, calves and
ankles. Liposculpture can also be performed on a smaller scale in
delicate areas, such as on the neck to combat a double chin. Men can
also have unwanted fat deposits on the chest that can cause embarrassment
and Liposculpture can be used to remove this.
Liposculpture
has now become very sophisticated, with the old method of suction
machines being replaced by a modern syringe technique enabling fat
deposits to be removed more accurately. This procedure is often performed
under local anaesthetic and sedation, meaning the patient can return
home the same day
